Rate Limiting

Currently, we don’t enforce strict rate limits on our API or SDK usage. If you can handle the traffic, we won’t stand in your way. Our infrastructure is built to process millions of requests efficiently, ensuring reliability, performance, and availability for all users worldwide.

What each plan does carry is a monthly conversion quota: 1,000 on Free, 10,000 on Starter and 100,000 on Growth. Scale is unlimited, with no quota and no cut-off. Every address you send counts toward it, valid or not: an invalid address (HTTP 400), a valid one with no geolocation record (HTTP 404) and every address of a bulk request all count. Once a metered plan reaches its quota, further requests return HTTP 429 with a Plan conversion limit exceeded message until your limit resets or the plan is upgraded, reading your conversions included. The CLI stops there, keeps what it already converted, and exits with code 5.
